“END OF AN ERA” (The Last Flight of Concorde)
This close up view of Concorde flying past the Suspension Bridge is taken from an original commissioned oil painting
the artist did for a lady who’s husband worked for Rolls-Royce.
Concorde left Heathrow Airport on 24-11-03 @ 1130 GMT flying out across the Bay of Biscay and then back to Bristol where she landed soon after 1300 GMT. It was the last of the seven BA Concordes to arrive at its new home.
One of the most popular viewing spots was from the Clifton Suspension Bridge where hundreds of people gathered (many of them with tears in there eyes) as they watched this fabulous aircraft on her last flight. This must have been one of the proudest but also saddest days in aviation history and this really does mark the end of an era!
